The Start of Bob’s Bar Grill…

Hello All,

I’ll start by saying this is all Sian D’Costa idea. All complaints/credit go to her. Who knows, if this takes off she’ll be in charge of the Complaint Department.

The name … it’s kind of an inside joke. Growing up as a kid, “What’s for dinner?” was often met with “Whatever’s on the menu at Kitty’s Bar & Grill.”; Kitty being my mom. Now, it’s Bob’s Bar & Grill.

I’ll post pictures and short write-ups on whatever is for dinner. If comments are left or anyone cares enough I’ll provide more detailed directions. Most of the stuff I make is fairly straight forward and not overly complicated or unusual. With that said, I’m always curious about new ingredients, new ways to prepare things, and new combinations.

I have a bunch of recipes on my website. I stole them from Food Network. I’ve not tried all of them but there was something about them that caught my attention at the time.

I guess I’ll start with the one I have on my Facebook wall.

Don’t worry if you can’t see it on Face Book, I copied it over completely here (including pictures). Or send an friend invite and I’ll add you.

Cooking at home doesn’t have to include the freezer section of the grocery store. It doesn’t require a microwave. And doesn’t require huge amounts of effort either. I’m not against microwaves but I am fairly anti frozen meal. There is a time and place for that but it shouldn’t be the bulk of your meals. Frozen prepped garlic bread; really? Your life is so busy that you can’t at least buy a loaf of bread from the in-store bakery, a stick of butter, and some garlic powder? The cheese is already pre-grated in the dairy section. If so, then maybe you should find another blog to read.

If, on the other hand, you’d like to make more meals at home, are looking for ideas, or are just curious, then stick around. This is my first ever attempt at a blog so please have some patience. This is not at all set up like a forum. I’m very much still trying to make sense of the tools, layout, etc.

If you’d like to do more than leave a simple comment, you have to be recognized as a Contributor, Author, or Editor. Being any of these will require you to sign up for a WordPress.com account. It’s free but one of those things I’m not going to force on anyone. I’ll try adding at least one new page per week. Depending on how bored I am, it may be more.

Thank you,
Bob Rogers
